Future Space
NASA designs a near-light speed engine that breaks the laws of physics. The US space agency has unveiled a new propulsion system that could land humans on Mars someday. At present, the engine is a theoretical device that can create ‘thrusts’ in the range of 10% of the speed of light. Theoretical does not mean impossible, and NASA sees this as a trial run for an eventual Mars mission. The new propulsion system only has a tiny proportion of the thrust required to get anything going. Still, NASA hopes it will provide enough impetus to work on future tasks like reaching Mars on current missions or building more advanced human-rated hyperdrive engines with higher speeds.Credit TheSimplySpace
