Meddling in Turkey’s ‘Internal Matters
The Turkish President has blasted the U.S. for meddling in Turkey’s ‘internal matters.’ President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said we need to teach the U.S. a ‘lesson’ after its envoy met with a presidential candidate from the main opposition party in Turkey. The alleged ‘interference’ by Biden comes amid a U.S.-Turkey tussle over NATO expansion. Turkey has finally let Finland into NATO, but it’s not budge yet on Sweden. While Turkey claims to be neutral, its president regularly chats with Vladimir Putin. Turkish President Erdogan’s so-called pro-Russia approach has angered the U.S.-led NATO, and ‘meddling’ by Joe Biden could be the result of that.
