Prime Minister Scott Morrison says he met with the governor-general last night and declared a “state of emergency” for New South Wales. “We had considered also doing it for Queensland,” Mr Morrison said. “The premier didn’t believe that was necessary in Queensland, and so I listened carefully to her and our agencies, and that’s what consultation is – you listen and then you make decisions
